I raised my last batch in my room in a "puppy playpen" I actually went out and identified weeds that were safe, harvested them and fed them to my chicks. Two weeks later, they are outside and tend to ignore weeds I have not cut for them. I only keep one now, and she stays in my room, so yes, I know from day to day....and poop to poop....how she is doing! We're going to do some cricket training soon! I want them to hunt. So a kiddie pool and 100 baby crickets should be fun to watch!

Why we do or don't eat most things is because of culture. But I have thought about switching over to duck eggs. Because they are more protein than chicken eggs. I'm pretty sure all eggs are safe to eat unless they're rotten. You could probably safely eat crocodile eggs. Only danger there is mother crocodile.

I went to ChatGPT and asked - "Why don't we eat turkey eggs". The response was Scarcity: Turkeys lay far fewer eggs compared to chickens. While a chicken can lay around 300 eggs per year, a turkey typically lays only about 100 eggs annually. This lower production makes turkey eggs less available and more expensive. Economic Factors: Turkeys are primarily raised for their meat, which is more profitable than egg production. Farmers prefer to hatch turkey eggs to raise more turkeys for meat rather than selling the eggs for consumption. Size and Shell Thickness: Turkey eggs are larger and have thicker shells compared to chicken eggs. This makes them more difficult to crack and use in cooking. Their larger size can also affect cooking times and recipes, which are generally standardized for chicken eggs. Flavor and Texture: Although turkey eggs are similar in taste to chicken eggs, some people perceive them to have a stronger flavor. The different texture can also be off-putting to those used to chicken eggs. Cultural Norms and Availability: In many cultures, chicken eggs have become the standard due to their availability, affordability, and versatility. Turkey eggs, being less common, are not typically found in grocery stores and are therefore not a regular part of most people's diets. Cost: Due to their lower production rate and the preference for using turkey eggs to hatch more turkeys, turkey eggs are more expensive than chicken eggs. This higher cost makes them less attractive to consumers. Marketing and Consumer Preference: The poultry industry has heavily marketed chicken eggs over the years, creating a strong consumer preference and habit around their consumption. Turkey eggs have not been similarly marketed, leading to lower demand.

I personally think it's kinda wasteful, I mean if you already raise turkeys for meat, why not make extra on the side by collecting the eggs and selling them online or something?

Great video, but just one critical comment, You could have just inserted a pic of the eggs that the corresponding chicken breed produced. Otherwise a great video. I was fortunate to have some green eggs courtesy of my partners neighbour who has chickens. In fact, she gave a whole bunch of different colours, blue, light blue, green, light green etc. Yes, I do like green eggs and ham, Sam I am! Subscribed! 😊🥚🥚🐔🐔👍

I've found that a slightly cool bath every day and then I put her out of the run in the yard until she is finished drying out. This gently brings her temperature down and gives her time to eat and drink for a few hours and she will come out of it in a few days instead of a month. It also made my broody girl bond more with me and actually gets jealous when I hold one of her sisters lol 😂

Okay so let's be real, anything outside of what is considered "the norm" nobody will eat. Unless say a famous person or the president posts about it on Twitter/X that turkey eggs are dope, that's really the only way people will eat anything new. For real I have seen this in action myself. I am half Hispanic and have made Mexican food for potlucks, and without fail, every single time, nobody eats it. They think it's too wierd and different and don't want to even try it. Even though I make that stuff daily, they see me eat it, even ask me questions about it, yet won't even try it XD the proof is in the pudding

Considering we raise so many damn turkeys I would imagine there would be a ton of eggs to do something with, unless 🤔.... Do turkeys not lay eggs like a chicken does? I know the wild turkeys around where I live only seem to lay eggs once a year but I don't know if that's the same for domestic turkey. 😅👍
